  7. SHOWDOWN/Plus is a power/UPS monitoring package designed to execute a system
  8. shutdown prior to loss of backup power. It transmits messages to users to
  9. inform them of changes in power status. A logfile of power incidents is
  10. maintained for trend analysis

  12. For UPSs with RS-232 communication capability, SHOWDOWN/Plus is able to monitor
  13. the UPS status as well. For example, SHOWDOWN/Plus can detect the need for UPS
  14. maintenance, battery replacement, adverse temperature conditions, and
  15. low-battery power. Messages appropriate to the status of the UPS are sent to
  16. users

  18. SHOWDOWN/Plus uses a set of end-user configurable values during its operation.
  19. These values are set at installation and can be changed at any time without
  20. having to re-install the software. All messages can also be customized to
  21. end-user requirements.
